Exploring Opportunities for Medical Research Collaboration with Uganda
Major General Dr. Mohamed Abdelsalam El-Gohary, CEO of The Egypt Center for Research and Regenerative Medicine (ECRRM), received Dr. Diana Atwine, Permanent Secretary of the Ugandan Ministry of Health, as part of her official visit to Egypt to learn about Egyptian expertise in the field of medical research and discuss opportunities for joint scientific collaboration.
During her visit, Dr. Atwine toured ECRRM’s state-of-the-art research facilities, where she was introduced to advanced laboratories specializing in genetics, immunology, electron microscopy, and experimental animal research, in addition to cutting edge technologies used in diagnostics and scientific research.
She praised the center’s remarkable capabilities, describing it as a beacon of advanced scientific research in Africa that contributes to shaping the continent’s medical research roadmap. She also commended the expertise and professionalism of the scientific and research teams at ECRRM, noting the high level of training and skill among its researchers, which positions the center as a regional leader in the advancement of medical research.
The visit concluded with an agreement to enhance cooperation between both parties through joint research projects and the exchange of scientific expertise.
